Dehradun: The state government has taken steps towards attracting big investors to set up enterprises. In this episode, a provision has been made to give them capital subsidy up to 20 percent relative to the permanent capital investment. This subsidy will be given to them in four installments after the enterprise is set up.
Taking the hill districts into two categories, it has been decided to give additional capital subsidy up to two percent on setting up enterprises in them. For the first time in the state, provision of capital subsidy has been made in large enterprises.
The new Uttarakhand Mega Industrial and Investment Policy was approved in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday. It has been clarified that large enterprises will be classified into four categories on the basis of permanent capital investment (excluding land).
Enterprises worth Rs. 50 crore to Rs. 200 crore will fall under the category of large, enterprises worth Rs. 200 crore to Rs. 500 crore will fall under the category of ultra large, enterprises worth Rs. 500 crore to Rs. 1000 crore will fall under the category of mega and enterprises worth more than Rs. 1000 crore will fall under the category of ultra mega. In these, the limit of generating permanent employment from 50 to minimum 500 has been set according to the category.
A provision of capital subsidy of 10 percent has been made for large industries, 12 percent for ultra large, 15 percent for mega and 20 percent for ultra mega. This subsidy will be given to them in installments in eight, 10, 12 and 15 years after the start of commercial production in the enterprises.
The enterprises to be set up under the policy will be reimbursed up to 50 percent of the stamp duty payable on the execution of land purchase deed and lease deed.
Country’s first yoga policy passed in the cabinet
The Dhami cabinet approved the country’s first yoga policy. The policy aims to establish five new yoga hubs in Uttarakhand by the year 2030. Along with this, it has been decided to provide yoga services in all AYUSH Health and Wellness Centers by the year 2026.
It has been decided to give a grant of 50 percent of the cost, maximum Rs 20 lakh, to those opening yoga and meditation centers in hilly areas and 25 percent of the cost, maximum Rs 10 lakh, to those opening yoga centers in the plains.
