Kotdwar: Kotdwar court has given a big decision on Friday in the much talked about Ankita Bhandari murder case of Uttarakhand. The court has convicted all three accused. All three accused have been sentenced to life imprisonment. The SIT team engaged in the investigation had filed a 500-page charge sheet. After about two and a half years, the decision of Ankita Bhandari murder case has come.
Stand with Ankita to get justice – said father
At the same time, before the court’s judgment, the statement of Ankita Bhandari’s mother and father came out. Ankita’s mother Soni Devi broke down crying before the court’s decision and demanded justice for Ankita.. She said that she wants Ankita’s killers to be hanged.. At the same time, Ankita’s father Virendra Singh Bhandari has also appealed to the people to stand with him in getting justice for Ankita and the three accused should be given death penalty.
Ankita was a receptionist
Let us tell you that 19-year-old Ankita Bhandari, a resident of Dobh Srikot village of Pauri district of Uttarakhand, used to work as a receptionist at Vanantara Resort in Ganga Bhogpur near Rishikesh. On 18 September 2022, Ankita suddenly went missing from the resort. The family lodged a missing person report at the revenue police post, but due to lack of proper action. On 21 September 2022, the case was transferred to Laxman Jhula police station.
SIT had investigated the case
On 21 September 2022, the main accused resort owner Pulkit Arya, manager Saurabh Bhaskar and deputy manager Ankit Gupta were arrested. On 24 September 2022, Ankita’s body was recovered from the Cheela canal in Rishikesh. The post-mortem report also found death due to drowning and injury marks on the body. On 24 September 2022, SIT was formed on the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Former state minister Vinod Arya, father of Pulkit Arya, the main accused in the Ankita murder case, and his brother Ankit Arya were expelled from the BJP while being relieved of their posts.
