The number of judges of Nainital High Court increased to 10, Subhash Upadhyay took charge

Nainital: Uttarakhand High Court advocate Subhash Upadhyay took oath as Additional Judge of the High Court on Friday. He was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Chief Justice Justice G Narendra. Now the total number of judges in Uttarakhand High Court has now become 10.

At the beginning of the oath taking ceremony held in the Chief Justice Court, Registrar General Kahkasha Khan read out the notification of the appointment letter issued by the President. After which Subhash Upadhyay duly took oath of the post of Additional Judge. Subhash Upadhyay was recommended to be made a judge of the High Court by the Collegium of the High Court of Uttarakhand in September 2022. After which the Collegium of the Supreme Court recommended Subhash Upadhyay to be made a judge of the Uttarakhand High Court on 12 April 2023. After a long wait of 2 years, he has now been made a judge.

Let us tell you that Subhash Upadhyay has also held many posts including Chief Permanent Advocate in the High Court. He was educated in Lucknow. There is an atmosphere of happiness among the advocates on his being made a judge of the High Court.
