Uttarakhand: Committee formed to prepare SOP for helicopter operation, will submit report by August 15

Dehradun: A committee was formed under the chairmanship of Home Secretary Shailesh Bagoli to prepare a standard operating procedure (SOP) for helicopter operation in the state. This committee will prepare a detailed report by August 15 and submit its recommendations to the government.

This committee, formed on the orders of Secretary Tourism Sachin Kurve, will have 10 members. CEO of Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority Sonika will be the member secretary of the committee. Its secretary will be Civil Aviation Department, Secretary Disaster Management, Director General DGCA, Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau, officer nominated by Meteorological Department, Executive Director of Airspace Management of Central Government, Executive Director of Airspace Traffic Management of Central Government, one heli service operator and pilot nominated by DGCA and UKADA.

The committee will analyze the causes of helicopter accidents and prepare a report for prevention of accidents in future. Apart from this, it will give suggestions to the government for human resources, equipment, administrative improvement in Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority, amendment in the SOP prepared earlier, strengthening the communication system for weather related information and strengthening the air traffic system in the state.
