Dehradun: Making government lands encroachment-free becomes a big challenge for the government and administration. For quite some time, the Dhami government has launched a campaign to free government lands from encroachment. However, now the government is going to take more strict action in this matter. On this issue, a high-level meeting was held on Friday, June 27 under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, in which CM Dhami gave some important guidelines.
In the meeting, the CM reviewed the removal of encroachment from government land. During this, the CM said that instructions have already been issued to prepare an action plan to remove illegal encroachment on government land, for which effective action should be taken at the district level. A campaign should be run to remove encroachment by forming a team of Irrigation, Public Works, Forest Department and Revenue Department at the district level. Along with this, the Principal Secretary was directed to appoint a nodal officer at the government level to look into the cases of encroachment in the plain areas of the state. The CM has also directed to take strict action to stop encroachment on the banks of Ganga in Haridwar, Kalyani river in Rudrapur and other rivers including Kosi in Nainital district. The CM also directed to take strict legal action against those occupying government land and to take effective measures to stop the cases of making fake documents of land by forging.
Apart from this, the Chief Minister has asked ADG AP Anshuman to further tighten the rules for verification of outsiders. During the meeting, the ADG said that a report is being sought on 18 points for verification, the data of which is also being collected at the state level.
