Dehradun: BJP has released the voter list along with the election notification for the post of state president and national council member. Mahendra Bhatt is set to become the state president again. Only Bhatt has been nominated. During this, CM Dhami, Union Minister of State Ajay Tamta, former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat, MP Ajay Bhatt and many senior leaders were present.
The state president will be announced tomorrow on July 1. On Sunday, Election Officer Khajan Das at the BJP state headquarters issued the election notification as per the instructions of National Election Officer K. Laxman. He said that a total of 125 voters are authorized to vote in the election for the post of president. Nominations will be done till 12 noon today. The nomination papers will be scrutinized from 12 to 2 pm on the same day. After this, nominations can be withdrawn from three to four o’clock.
The State Election Officer said that elections will be held as per the rules laid down by the State Council and National Executive under the party constitution. Any worker who wants to nominate for the state president will fill form (f). Only those workers will be able to nominate for the state president who have been an active member of the party for three years and a primary member for 10 years.
This is the process
Any 10 members of the state electoral college will jointly propose the name of the worker who is eligible for the election of the state president. But this proposal should come from at least one-third of the elected districts. He told that the election of the members of the National Council will be done by the State Council as per subsection (2) of the party’s constitution.
The members of the State Council will elect as many members for the National Council from their state as there are Lok Sabha seats in that state, provided that the number of members of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes among the members is not less than the number of seats reserved for these categories from that state. Two Lok Sabha constituencies of the state will be combined and divided into parts. At least one representative will be elected from each part.
