Uttarakhand’s first geothermal policy approved in cabinet meeting, these proposals also approved

Dehradun: The cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has concluded. All the important proposals have been approved in the cabinet meeting, under which a project worth crores of rupees has been approved to upgrade the B grade bridges of the state to A grade under PWD (Public Works Department). Along with this, the first geothermal policy of the state has been approved.

Not only this, the structure has been amended to further strengthen the Vigilance Department. 20 new posts will be added to the Vigilance Department. In this way, the number of posts in the Vigilance Department will increase from 132 to 152.

Important proposals of the cabinet meeting:

  • Project Management Unit got approval for the study related to increasing the vehicle capacity of the bridges present in the state.
  • Revised structure of Vigilance Department approved, approval given for adding 20 new posts. The number of posts was increased from 132 to 152.
  • It was decided to enlist the companies listed in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology in the state for the supply of information technology related services and materials.
  • Approval was given to promulgate the Uttarakhand State Mineral Exploration Trust, 2025.
  • Approval was given to promulgate the Uttarakhand District Mineral Foundation Trust, 2025.
  • Approval was given to Uttarakhand’s first Geothermal Energy Policy 2025.
  • Approval was given to establish a Digital Forensic Laboratory in the State Tax Department.
  • Approval was given to reorganize the Finance Services Cadre of Uttarakhand.
  • Under the Social Welfare Department, old age and widow pension will continue to be available even after the son completes 18 years of age.
