Jaipur: In one of the biggest bureaucratic reshuffles in recent times, the Bhajan Lal Sharma-led Rajasthan government has issued transfer and posting orders for 12 IAS, 91 IPS, and 142 RAS officers. The orders were released by the Department of Personnel late on Saturday night and have been implemented with immediate effect.

This major shake-up spans the administrative and police machinery across the state, coming at a time when Rajasthan is preparing for upcoming civic and panchayat elections.

Among the most significant changes were seen in the Rajasthan Police Department, where Superintendents of Police (SPs) from 31 districts have been transferred. Administrative Transfers: 12 IAS Officers Get New Roles

The 12 IAS officers transferred include many from the 2022 and 2023 batches, who have completed their training and have now been posted as Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs) and Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) across the state. This includes postings in Barmer, Udaipur, Pali, Sriganganagar, Kishangarh, Bikaner, Alwar, and more.

These field-level appointments are seen as critical for district administration, governance delivery, and coordination with police and RAS officials.

Strategic Timing and Political Implications

This sweeping reshuffle is being viewed as part of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma’s strategy to strengthen administrative efficiency and control ahead of local body elections. The realignment of officers in both civil and police services indicates a tactical move to reinforce law and order, streamline governance, and ensure faster policy execution across key regions.
