Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed happiness over the payment of Rs 1600 crore by the Uttar Pradesh government to Uttarakhand state as pension share for the period of financial year 2021-22 and 2022-23 and thanked Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The Chief Minister has said that due to better coordination and continuous dialogue between the two states, pending issues of assets and liabilities are being resolved expeditiously.
It is noteworthy that for the apportionment of expenditure on pension in the states of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand in the financial year 2021-22 and 2022-23, the Accountant General, Uttar Pradesh has approved Rs. 952.26 crore for the year 2021-22 and Rs. 952.26 crore for the period 2022-23. A liability of Rs. 1309.00 crore was estimated on the Uttar Pradesh government. In relation to the total liability of Rs. 2261.26 crore estimated for the said two financial years on pension expenditure, the Uttar Pradesh government has issued an order to transfer the amount of Rs. 1600 crore to the Uttarakhand government through inter-state adjustment through the Reserve Bank of India in the month of July 2025.
