Industrialists will adopt 550 government schools of Uttarakhand, special SOP will be ready soon

Dehradun: The government is making all efforts to improve the condition of government schools in Uttarakhand. While on one hand the state government is working on a cluster scheme to modernize the schools, on the other hand, a roadmap has also been prepared for the adoption process to improve the arrangements in all the government schools of the state.

In this episode, a program ‘Building future-ready schools’ was organized at the Raj Bhavan. Where MoUs were signed between the education department and the industry for the development of government schools through CSR funds for modernization and better educational environment.

MoUs were signed with them: In this program, the education department signed a Memorandum of Understanding i.e. MoU with IGL, Relaxo Footwear, Convenient, Taj Group and Gondwana Research. A new initiative has been started by the state government in collaboration with the industry to modernize education and provide a better educational environment. Under which this initiative is being started in 550 government primary and secondary schools of the state.

Most of the schools in this are from the hilly region. So that, these schools situated amidst difficult geographical conditions can be equipped with infrastructure facilities from CSR fund (Corporate Social Responsibility) along with model class rooms, computer lab, science lab, library, furniture, toilets, sports material, playground and boundary wall and other facilities.

Governor Gurmeet Singh said this: At the same time, Governor Gurmeet Singh told the entrepreneurs and social workers associated with this initiative that providing financial assistance only through CSR fund is not enough. Intense attachment, affection, dedication and regular communication with the children of the school which has been adopted is also very important.

The Governor urged that whenever you get the opportunity, visit the adopted school. Spend time with the children there and also connect your family members with that school. This kind of participation will inspire the children and education will become a vibrant social movement.

550 government schools are being adopted: At the same time, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that 550 government schools of Uttarakhand are being adopted by the prestigious industry groups of the country and migrant Uttarakhandis. This is a historic decision in the educational history, which will strengthen the education system of the state.

Under this, modern facilities like smart classrooms, libraries, science laboratories, sports equipment, clean toilets, computer labs will be developed in schools. CM Dhami said that for the personality development of children in the state, a start has also been made to send meritorious students of class 10th and 12th of every development block on India tour.

For the first time in the state, employment fairs were organized for vocational students of class 12th, through which 146 children have also been selected in big companies. He told that through the book ‘Hamari Virasat’, work is also being done to introduce the students of class 6 to 8 to the culture, folk tradition and great personalities of the country and state.

“We have spoken to 294 industrialists, out of which 280 industrialists have agreed to adopt schools. All the MLAs of the state have also assured to cooperate in providing infrastructure facilities to one school each. The alumni of the school are also interested in adopting schools, but due to the absence of any special SOP, they are unable to cooperate in the schools. The Education Department is soon issuing an SOP, so that the alumni will also be able to help the schools.” – Dhan Singh Rawat, Education Minister, Uttarakhand
