Dehradun: The Chief Minister has been staying in Uttarkashi for three days and is personally in charge of the rescue operation. The Chief Minister went to the Matli helipad near the district headquarters Uttarkashi this morning and gave necessary instructions to the officials regarding the rescue operation and dispatched a consignment of relief material by helicopter. As per the instructions of the Chief Minister, the movement of helicopters started from Matli helipad at 7 am to evacuate the people trapped in the disaster-affected area. By noon, 128 people have been transported from Harshil to Matli helipad via helicopter. The Chief Minister has again left for a tour of Dharali area today to take stock of the rescue operation.
The campaign to provide relief to the affected and search for the missing people in the disaster-affected Dharali area is going on at a war footing. Various agencies are continuously engaged in the restoration of basic facilities and communication system. Mobile service has been restored in Harshil Bagori.
