The 30 meter bridge damaged in the disaster on Gangotri National Highway was rebuilt, traffic started in Taknaur area

Uttarkashi: The construction of the valley bridge has been completed in place of the disaster-damaged bridge at Limchyagad on Gangotri National Highway. By working on a war footing and building the bridge in a short period of three days, the road on the Gangotri route has now become smooth till Sonagad and this has also paved the way for rapid reconstruction of the damaged road ahead. Due to the heavy rains in the past few days, the Gangotri National Highway was damaged at many places and the 30 meter long bridge built on Limchyagad ahead of Ganganani was washed away during the disaster. Along with this, work is being done day and night to restore normalcy in the disaster affected area as soon as possible. As a result, communication facilities, electricity and drinking water supply have been restored in the disaster affected area.
