Haryana Police Reshuffle: IPS Sumit Kumar Appointed as Bhiwani SP After Transfer of IPS Manbir Singh – Know More

The Haryana government has announced a reshuffle in the police administration following the recent murder of a female schoolteacher in Bhiwani on August 13. Family members of the victim had alleged delay in lodging the complaint, leading to strong administrative response.

As part of the changes, Mr. Manbir Singh, a 2011-batch IPS officer who was serving as Superintendent of Police (SP), Bhiwani, has been transferred and posted as SP, Emergency Response Support System (ERSS).

Mr. Sumit Kumar Takes Charge as New Bhiwani SP

Mr. Sumit Kumar, a 2014-batch IPS officer currently serving as Commandant of the 5th Battalion, Haryana Armed Police (HAP), has been appointed as the new SP of Bhiwani. The government’s move underscores its focus on maintaining accountability and strengthening law enforcement in sensitive districts.

Other Key Transfers in the Reshuffle

Mr. Surinder Singh Bhoria, IPS, will replace Mr. Sumit Kumar as Commandant, 5th Bn HAP, and will also hold additional charge of SP, Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau (HSNCB).

In other changes, Haryana Police Service (HPS) officer Mr. Amit Dahiya has been given the responsibility of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Crime, Jhajjar. HPS officer Ms. Pankhuri Kumar has been posted as SP, Anti-Corruption Bureau, Ambala.
