Nainital: ADG Law and Order V Murugeshan held a crime review meeting with all the police officers of Kumaon in Nainital. In the meeting, ADG Law and Order V Murugeshan gave strict guidelines to control crime. He also said that strict action will be taken in case of negligence. Along with this, he informed that the investigation of the incident during the Nainital District Panchayat President election has been handed over to the CBCID.
ADG Law and Order V Murugeshan said that the government has now given the CBCID to investigate the incident that took place in Nainital. ADG V. Murugeshan, who reached Nainital, held a crime review meeting with the police officers of Kumaon at the Police Line Nainital. During this, V Murugeshan, while giving instructions for quick and effective action on crimes against women, theft, burglary, cyber crime, illegal arms and drug supply chain, also emphasized on timely disposal of pending investigations, identification of unidentified bodies and bringing transparency in investigative proceedings. In the meeting held in Nainital Police Line Auditorium, strict instructions were given to investigate the status of various crimes, disclosure of pending cases and making arrests.
ADG especially instructed to take women kidnapping and other crimes related to women seriously. He said that such cases should be investigated with sensitivity and strict action should be taken against the accused. In the meeting, emphasis was laid on quick disposal of theft and burglary cases and recovery of property by arresting 100% of the accused. Along with this, instructions were also given to take strict action under the Arms Act and to stop the supply chain of illegal weapons.
ADG said that breaking the supply chain of illegal drugs should be the priority of the police. For this, all the districts were instructed to remain active and keep checking at entry points, barriers and suspicious places. Describing cyber crimes as a growing challenge, the ADG emphasized on making the functionality of 1930 helpline more effective. He instructed that recovery of the property of the victims in cyber fraud cases should be ensured.
Eye on pending investigations and departmental proceedings: In the meeting, instructions were given to complete the pending investigations on time, bring transparency in investigative proceedings and dispose of departmental proceedings within the stipulated time limit. He said that a campaign is being run to identify unidentified bodies. For this, action should be taken swiftly by making an effective action plan at the district level.
