CM Dhami did an aerial tour of disaster-hit Tharali, met the affected, assured help –

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached Tharali on Sunday. He did an aerial tour of the disaster-hit area. As per the scheduled program, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached Kulsari helipad by helicopter. From here he reached the relief camp set up for the disaster-affected people of Tharali by car. Where he met the disaster-affected people. After this CM Dhami reached Tharali market. Here he took updates on the situation.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his condolences on the terrible disaster in Tharali. He said the government stands with the disaster-affected people. ITBP along with NDRF and SDRF have been deployed for relief and rescue operations in the disaster-affected areas. Chief Minister Dhami assured all possible help to the disaster-affected people.

Let us tell you that on the night of 22 August, life was affected due to heavy rains in Thana Tharali area. Seeing the seriousness of the situation, the Tharali police station alerted the local people at night itself. After which people were evacuated from their homes and taken to safe places. Superintendent of Police Chamoli Sarvesh Panwar took charge at the Kuj incident site.

After this, the team of the district administration also reached the spot. Relief and rescue operations gained momentum by the day. A helipad was built in Chepdon village. The people injured in the disaster were airlifted to AIIMS Rishikesh. After this, by evening, CM Dhami also took an update about Tharali.

CM Dhami himself reached the Disaster Operations Center. Here he held a meeting with the officials. After which CM Dhami announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh for the houses damaged in Tharali and other disasters in the state.

CM Dhami, while reviewing the disaster relief operations, directed the District Magistrate to immediately release an assistance amount of Rs 5 lakh to the affected people for the completely damaged houses. Along with this, he has also instructed to provide immediate financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakh to the families of the deceased. The Chief Minister has instructed that arrangements for drainage of water from Syana Chatti should be made as soon as possible.

Let us tell you that the Chief Minister has recently constituted a committee of experts and scientists from various reputed agencies to study the pattern of disasters in Dharali, Saiji (Pauri) and Dharali and has instructed to prepare a report.
