Khatima: On the 31st anniversary of the Khatima firing incident, the CM paid tribute to the state agitators. Let us tell you that on 1 September 1994, the police opened fire on unarmed state agitators in Khatima. 7 state agitators were martyred in that firing. On this occasion, the CM inquired about the well-being of the families of the martyrs and presented them with clothes and gifts.
31st anniversary of Khatima firing incident: On this occasion, Nainital MP Ajay Bhatt, local MLAs and state agitators who reached Khatima from various areas of the state paid tribute to the martyrs by offering floral tributes. Let us tell you that on September 1, 1994, during the state movement, seven state agitators sacrificed their lives in the firing by the police administration on a crowd of thousands in Khatima.
It was due to their martyrdom that the state of Uttarakhand emerged as a new state on 9 November 2000 during the government of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The martyrs of the Khatima firing incident include martyrs Bhagwan Singh Sirola, Gopi Chand, Dharmanand Pandey, Bhagwan Singh, Paramjit Singh, Rampal Singh and Salim.
7 state agitators were martyred: During the Uttarakhand state movement, seven state agitators sacrificed their lives in the firing incident in Khatima on September 1, 1994. Since then, every year this day is celebrated as Balidan Diwas to pay tribute to the martyrs of the firing incident. State Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached the Shaheed Smarak located at the main square of Khatima to pay tribute to the martyrs of the state movement.
CM Dhami paid tribute to the martyrs: On this occasion, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid floral tribute to the seven state agitators martyred in the Khatima firing incident by offering a floral wreath. Along with this, the martyrs of the state movement were saluted and their families were honored. On this occasion, Nainital MP Ajay Bhatt, Khatima MLA Bhuvan Kapri, Nanakmatta MLA Gopal Singh Rana, District Panchayat President Ajay Maurya, Block Pramukh Sarita Arya and senior state agitators were present.
CM called for creating the state of the agitators’ dreams: Addressing the state agitators on this occasion, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the people of the state achieved the state after immense oppression and many martyrdoms. Therefore, he wants to assure that the state government is committed to creating a state in accordance with the dreams and sentiments of the martyrs. The CM said that the Prime Minister of the country Narendra Modi is engaged in beautifying Uttarakhand created by Atal ji. The state government is with the disaster victims: CM Dhami said that-
Today there is a heavy rain alert in the entire state. Many areas including Dharali, Tharali and Rudraprayag in the state are suffering from natural disaster. The state government is standing with the disaster victims at this time. The state government is standing for the rehabilitation of the disaster affected, every possible help to the people of the disaster affected areas. The state government is continuously working to take the state forward with a resolution without any alternative.
