13 women got Teelu Rauteli Award, 33 Anganwadi workers also honored

Dehradun: Every year, the Uttarakhand government honors women doing better and excellent work in the state with the Teelu Rauteli Award. In this sequence, the State Stree Shakti, Teelu Rauteli and Anganwadi Worker Award Distribution Ceremony was organized in the IRDT Auditorium at Survey Chowk on Thursday. In which CM Dhami presented the Teelu Rauteli Award to 13 women who did excellent and better work in all fields. Along with this, 33 Anganwadi workers were also honored. These women received the Teelu Rauteli Award: Meeta Upadhyay from Almora, Alisha Manral from Bageshwar, Surabhi from Chamoli, Anamika Bisht from Champawat, Shivani Gupta from Dehradun, Ruma Devi from Haridwar, Naina from Nainital, Roshma Devi from Pauri Garhwal, Rekha Bhatt from Pithoragarh, Hema Negi Karasi from Rudraprayag, Sakshi Chauhan from Tehri Garhwal, Rekha from Udham Singh Nagar and Vijayalakshmi Joshi from Uttarkashi were honored with the Teelu Rauteli Award. During this, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid tribute to Veerangana Teelu Rauteli and said that, Teelu Rauteli defeated the opponents with her battle skills at the age of just 15 years. At the age when children learn to play, jump and read, at the same age, Teelu Rauteli showed indomitable courage and bravery. Therefore, it would not be wrong to call Veerangana Teelu Rauteli the Queen of Jhansi of Uttarakhand. CM Dhami said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working for the welfare and empowerment of women power with the mantra of Nari Tu Narayani.

Along with giving 33 percent reservation to women in Parliament and Legislative Assemblies, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao Abhiyan, Ujjwala Yojana, Lakhpati Didi Yojana, the Central Government is empowering women in every way. Similarly, by ending the evil practice of triple talaq, Prime Minister Modi has strengthened the women of the country socially. Under the guidance of the Prime Minister, the state government is also working dedicatedly for the welfare of women power. In this sequence, the state government has implemented 30 percent reservation for women in government services. For the safety of women and protection of their rights, the historic work of implementing the Uniform Civil Code has been done for the first time in the country.

The Chief Minister said that from the year 2023, the state government has increased the Teelu Rauteli award amount from Rs 31 thousand to Rs 51 thousand. Anganwadi worker award amount has been increased from Rs 21 thousand to 51 thousand. He said that the state government has increased the honorarium of Anganwadi, Mini Anganwadi sisters and assistants to empower them. Earlier Anganwadi sisters used to get an honorarium of Rs 7500, now it has been increased to Rs 9300. Similarly, now mini Anganwadi gets an honorarium of Rs 6250 instead of 4500 and assistants get an honorarium of Rs 5250 instead of 3550. Along with this, provision has also been made to promote Anganwadi workers to the post of supervisor.
