Dehradun: CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has issued a statement regarding those who attempted to cause a disturbance in Dehradun late Monday night. He termed the incident a deliberate conspiracy to create unrest and disturbance. He also warned of strict action under the anti-riot law against those involved.
In fact, a mob of people suddenly took to the streets late Monday night in the Patel Nagar police station area of the city. The mob gathered at Lalpul in Patel Nagar and attempted to disrupt the communal atmosphere by raising religious slogans. The mob also attempted to block the road. However, the police brought the situation under control in time and dispersed the crowd with batons. Following this, police forces have been deployed in sensitive areas of the city.
Now, CM Dhami has responded to those who attempted to create a disturbance and disrupt peace in Dehradun. CM Dhami said, “This is a deliberate conspiracy to create unrest and disturbance during festivals and religious rituals. Behind this are forces that cannot see India’s strength today, do not support the vision of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’, and rely on the politics of appeasement. Those who cannot digest and see the resolve of a developed India moving forward, are constantly trying to incite unrest and riots, and are working to poison society.”
The CM said, “If you respect someone, that respect is only reflected in your conduct. Uttarakhand is home to numerous religious places of reverence and faith, including the Ganga, Yamuna, Chardham, and Kailash.”
This type of anarchy will not be tolerated in Uttarakhand at all. Strict action will be taken against such elements. The government has enacted strict anti-riot laws against such anarchists. The government will make rioters who damage government property compensate for the damage.” Here’s the story: Late on September 29th, a social media post attempted to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere of Dehradun. The primary reason was a comment on a religious post posted on social media by a young man from another community. Following this, hundreds of people from one community surrounded a police station and began shouting slogans. Despite police efforts to pacify the crowd, the police resorted to lathi charge to calm the situation. This resulted in widespread chaos.
