CM Dhami inaugurated helicopter services to various locations in Uttarakhand

Dehradun/Pithoragarh: Reaching Munsyari, a beautiful hill station located on the border of Uttarakhand, has become easier and more convenient. Now, it takes just 15 minutes to reach Munsyari from Pithoragarh. To this end, the Pithoragarh-Munsyari helicopter service began today. Additionally, a helicopter service has also been launched for Haldwani-Almora. CM Dhami virtually inaugurated these helicopter services.

Pithoragarh-Munsyari and Haldwani-Almora helicopter services launched: On October 1, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami virtually inaugurated the Pithoragarh-Munsyari-Pithoragarh and Haldwani-Almora-Haldwani air services under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (UDAN Scheme) from the CM residence. He stated that this would boost tourism activities. Additionally, this service will prove to be a lifeline during disaster management and emergency situations. Local residents and tourists will enjoy easy transportation.

Pithoragarh to Munsyari fare and flight times: Helicopter services for Pithoragarh-Munsyari-Pithoragarh and Haldwani-Almora-Haldwani will operate seven days a week and twice daily. The Pithoragarh to Munsyari helicopter service will depart at 10:30 am and 1:50 pm. The Munsyari to Pithoragarh helicopter service will depart at 10:50 am and 2:10 pm. The journey will take just 15 minutes. Passengers will pay a fare of ₹2,500.

Haldwani to Almora fare and flight times: The Haldwani to Almora helicopter service will depart at 11:50 am and 3:10 pm. Meanwhile, this service from Almora to Haldwani will operate at 12:50 pm and 4:10 pm. The fare for these flights has been fixed at ₹2,500. This makes reaching Almora and Munsyari easier.

A 3- to 4-hour journey will be reduced to a few minutes: CM Dhami said that Almora and Munsyari, not only are ancient cities of Uttarakhand but also hold historical and cultural significance. They attract tourists from across the country and the world for their natural beauty, historic temples, and rich culture. With the launch of the helicopter service, tourists will now be able to easily reach Almora and Munsyari. These services will reduce the travel time from Haldwani to Almora from 3 to 4 hours to just a few minutes.

Emphasis on operating heli services from 18 heliports in Uttarakhand: CM Dhami stated that work is underway to operate heli services from 18 heliports in Uttarakhand. Of these, heli services have been successfully launched at 12 heliports so far. He also stated that heli services have already connected important locations such as Gauchar, Joshiada, Haldwani, Munsyari, Mussoorie, Pithoragarh, Pantnagar, Champawat, Bageshwar, Nainital, and Almora.
