Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami presented checks of ₹50 lakh each to the dependents of three employees serving through UPNL at the Secretariat on Friday. Brijesh Kumar, posted at the Electricity Distribution Division, Jaspur, died in a road accident in January 2025, Tasleem, posted at Bridkul Dehradun, died in November 2024, and Sanjeev Kumar, posted at the Electricity Distribution Division, Haridwar, died in a road accident in February 2025.
On the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, an MoU has been signed between the state government and banks to provide various facilities and insurance benefits under the Corporate Salary Package to the government, semi-government, and UPNL employees of Uttarakhand. Under this important initiative of the state government, financial assistance is being provided to the families of employees who die in accidents. The Chief Minister also expressed his gratitude to Punjab National Bank for providing this facility to UPNL employees.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that while no amount of financial assistance can replace human loss, it helps provide financial support to their families during difficult times. The government strives to provide employees with a safe and respectful working environment, as well as every possible facility for their families during difficult circumstances. He said that insurance and other protections are being provided to employees in the state under the Corporate Salary Package. The Chief Minister said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is implementing numerous innovations and has taken numerous decisions in the interest of employees.
Present on the occasion were Principal Secretary R.K. Sudhanshu, Secretary Deependra Chaudhary, Additional Secretary Manmohan Mainali, Major General Shammi Sabharwal (Retd.), MD UPNL J.N.S. Bisht, Punjab National Bank Zonal Head Anupam, Deputy General Manager Abhinandan, AGM Ajit Kumar Upadhyay were present.
