CM Dhami attended the 24th International Conference of the Indian Association of Social Science Institutions (IASI). Experts from across the country and abroad discussed issues such as climate change and disasters. He said the conference will prove beneficial for the state.

Dehradun: The Chief Minister stated that various sessions of the annual convention of the Indian Association of Social Science Institutions will feature meaningful discussions by eminent scholars from India and abroad on important topics such as social welfare, economics, employment, industry, agriculture, technology, environment, and urbanization. This brainstorming session will also lead to the effective implementation of social policies and the compilation of concrete and practical measures for the welfare of the people at the state and national levels.

The Chief Minister stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is continuously working with the motto of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas.” Since his appointment as Prime Minister, determined efforts have been made towards the welfare of every section of society through numerous policies and schemes over the past 11 years. Crores of citizens across the country are benefiting from numerous public welfare schemes, such as the Jan Dhan Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and Ayushman Bharat Yojana, launched for the welfare of the last mile.

The Chief Minister stated that schemes such as the Solar Mission, Electric Mobility, Green Hydrogen Mission, Swachh Bharat Mission, Namami Gange Abhiyan, and Plastic-Free India Abhiyan are playing a vital role in environmental protection. With the Prime Minister’s guidance and support, the state government is continuously working towards sustainable development while strengthening the concept of social justice in the state. The Chief Minister stated that along with increasing old-age pensions, pensions have been extended to both husband and wife, and monthly payments have been introduced in all pension schemes, replacing quarterly payments. The state government has worked to establish social justice in the state with every decision.

The Chief Minister stated that the state government is working with full commitment and determination to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. The state has achieved the Sustainable Development Goals by maintaining economic, social, and environmental stability, ensuring a safe and just system. The state government has launched a three-pillar, nine-point policy to ensure the balance between economy and ecology, which is an important initiative towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Chief Minister stated that continuous work is being done in the state in areas such as poverty alleviation, food security, drinking water and sanitation, sex ratio at birth, clean energy, urban development, financial inclusion, and climate change. The government is strengthening these areas through schemes such as the Chief Minister’s Women Entrepreneurship Promotion Scheme, Solar Energy Revolution Campaign, Smart City Mission, and Chief Minister’s Urban Livelihood Scheme.

The Chief Minister stated that Uttarakhand has ranked first in the country in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals as determined by NITI Aayog. The state faces numerous challenges, including climate change, disaster management, access to healthcare, sustainable agriculture, and water resource management. The Chief Minister stated that the state government has signed three very important agreements with Tata Trusts, NASSCOM, and the Wadhwani Foundation to strengthen collective efforts in the field of social development.

The Chief Minister stated that with the support of Tata Trusts, holistic and sustainable development is being strengthened in the state in areas such as water management, nutrition, telemedicine, rural livelihoods, and green energy. While with the support of NASSCOM and the Wadhwani Foundation, youth are being provided with essential skills and knowledge in areas such as artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, Python, generative AI, skill development, and self-employment. He stated that through these innovations, Uttarakhand will be established as a model state for sustainable development.
