CM Pushkar Singh Dhami arrived in Rudrapur on a day-long visit on Sunday. He participated in the four-day 118th All India Farmers’ Fair being held at the Agricultural University. CM Dhami visited the women’s self-help group stalls set up by the university and gathered information. He also tasted Almora’s famous Bal Mithai from the stalls. After which, he addressed the farmers, students, and scientists in Gandhi Hall.
During this, he said that since the establishment of the Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, the father of the Green Revolution in India, has organized a four-day farmers’ fair before the Kharif and Rabi harvests. Farmers from Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab, and many other states attend this fair in large numbers and purchase technical knowledge, high-quality seeds, and saplings. This increases their income and connects them with modern farming. Pantnagar University always contributes to the progress of farmers.
CM Dhami said that the BJP government in Uttarakhand is committed to the upliftment and prosperity of farmers. On one hand, the government is providing interest-free loans up to ₹3 lakh to the farmers of the state. On the other hand, under the Farm Machinery Bank Scheme, they are also providing up to 80 percent subsidy on the purchase of agricultural equipment.
He said that our double-engine government is continuously providing benefits to farmers through new schemes. In the last 25 years, the state has created approximately 40,000 government jobs. Of these, 25,000 recruitments occurred in four years. Additionally, the government has jailed over 100 counterfeit mafias. We stand with the youth; our government is working in accordance with their sentiments.
