Khatima: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today purchased traditional earthen lamps and locally manufactured goods in his home district of Khatima under the “Adopt Swadeshi” campaign.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister appealed to the people of the state to encourage local artisans, craftsmen, and indigenous product manufacturers on the occasion of Diwali, which will not only strengthen the resolve for a self-reliant India but will also boost the economy of villages and towns.
Chief Minister Dhami said that Diwali is not only a festival of light, enthusiasm, and joy, but it is also a symbol of self-reliance, respect, and self-respect. He said, “When we buy diyas or other indigenous products made in our villages and towns, we honor a family’s livelihood, their hard work, and their hopes.”
The Chief Minister said that the state government is continuously working to realize Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to “Vocal for Local” and “Self-Reliant India.” He added that the purchase of indigenous products also directly benefits local crafts, cottage industries, and women’s self-help groups.
He said that the artisans of Uttarakhand have a rich tradition and skills. Earthen diyas, handmade decorative items, organic products, and mountain foods are not only popular locally but are also making their mark nationally and internationally.
Chief Minister Dhami said that every citizen should pledge to light their homes with indigenous products this Diwali, so that the lamps of happiness can also be lit in the homes of other families. “This Diwali, let us all together realize the dream of a self-reliant India. Our small purchases can bring a ray of hope to a family.”
The Chief Minister extended his heartfelt greetings to all the citizens of the state on Diwali, Dhanteras, and Bhaiya Dooj, promising that these festivals bring happiness, prosperity, and renewed energy to everyone’s lives. Local public representatives, business leaders, women from self-help groups, and citizens were present in large numbers on the occasion.
