It should be noted that before Diwali, there was confusion among employees in Uttarakhand regarding the receipt of bonus and dearness allowance. State employees were also expecting a gift from the government on Diwali. Consequently, the government has now decided to provide employees with a bonus as well as a dearness allowance, following which the government has issued a related order.

These will receive the bonus: The state government has decided to provide ad hoc bonuses for the year 2024-25 to non-gazetted employees, state department employees, aided teachers, employees of technical educational institutions, local bodies, and district panchayat employees, as well as daily wage employees.

An order has been issued to provide bonuses up to a maximum of ₹7,000 to state employees. This includes non-gazetted Group B employees, state-aided teachers, and Group C and D employees of technical educational institutions, local bodies, and district panchayats who are not covered by any productivity-related bonus scheme.

An order has also been issued to provide dearness allowance: This bonus will be given to employees who were in service on March 31, 2025, and who have served for a minimum of six months by March 31, 2025. In addition to the bonus, the government has also decided to provide dearness allowance (DA). The government has also issued a related order.

Under this, a monthly dearness allowance of 55 percent was approved on January 1, 2025, which has been decided to be increased by 3 percent. Until now, employees were paid a 55 percent dearness allowance, and now, with this three percent increase, a 58 percent monthly dearness allowance has been approved for employees.

Not applicable to: Notably, this will not apply to judges of the Nainital High Court, the Chairman and Members of the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission, or employees of public sector undertakings, unless separate orders are issued by the departments in this regard.

4 months’ arrears will also be paid: In the case of dearness allowance, arrears from July 1, 2025, to October 31, 2025, will also be paid. From November 1, 2025, dearness allowance will be paid regularly along with salary. In this way, the employees in the state are going to get the benefit of dearness allowance from July 1, 2025, in which the employees will get 4 months’ arrears.
