Haridwar: President Draupadi Murmu arrived in Uttarakhand today on a three-day visit. Chief Minister Dhami and Governor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Gurmeet Singh welcomed the President with a bouquet at the airport. She then departed for Haridwar. President Draupadi Murmu attended the convocation ceremony at Patanjali University in Haridwar. She attended the ceremony as the chief guest and presented degrees and medals to the students. The Chief Minister and Governor were also present.
In her address, the President said that it is a matter of great joy that 64 percent of the medal winners today are female students. These daughters will bring glory to India. The time has come to move the country forward. The 1.4 billion people of the country are also looking forward with hope. If daughters lag behind in making India a developed country, the dream of a developed India will remain unfulfilled. This is a glimpse of the efforts being made by Ramdev ji. This sacred area of Haridwar is a gateway to pilgrimage. All those who worship Goddess Saraswati in the sacred premises deserve congratulations. Patanjali’s contribution is like a stream connected to the uninterrupted flow of the Ganga. The students and their parents also deserve congratulations.
Patanjali has worked to remove impurities from the body through yoga, Ayurveda, and spirituality. I salute Maharishi Patanjali. The Maharishi tradition is being promoted in today’s society. This university promotes education and beauty. I have known about the yoga and Ayurveda here for a long time and have benefited from it. The spirit of world brotherhood, the integration of new knowledge, and the acceptance of global challenges are moving forward. The opportunity to study in this beautiful place is a symbol of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. I am confident that all of you will be ready to face climate change and other challenges. The wish for the well-being of all is a hallmark of our culture.

By emulating Bhagirathi, who brought Mother Ganga to earth through arduous austerities, you will all strive to build a nation through individual development. I am confident that the students of this school will make a significant contribution. Today, India is not only celebrating Yoga Day, but is also providing the entire world with the path to health. Now, these students will spread yoga, pranayama, and spirituality throughout the world and become world leaders. People will soon respect our ancient India. I wish everyone a bright future.

In his address, CM Dhami expressed gratitude to Swami Ramdev, Acharya Balkrishna, and the Patanjali family. He said that by implementing the new education policy, Uttarakhand is connected with research institutions and artificial intelligence. By establishing a Science City in Dehradun, research is being promoted. Technological innovation and new employment opportunities are being created. We are transforming youth into job creators, not job seekers. The strictest laws have been enacted to curb the cheating mafia in the education sector. The state government is working with determination to build the best Uttarakhand. I am confident that we will continue to receive everyone’s support in fulfilling this commitment.
Yoga has brought about a major revolution in the field of health – Governor
The Governor said that Swami Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna at Patanjali University spread yoga and Ayurveda worldwide and made unprecedented contributions to the Swadeshi movement. Our sages have contributed to the welfare of the entire universe. The Prime Minister has given yoga a place in the entire world. A major revolution has taken place in the field of health. I believe that India’s ancient culture will be revived. I am pleased to see that young people are eager to study yoga, spirituality, Ayurveda, and ancient practices. They are our brand ambassadors. This is a complete medical science. Your education will be meaningful only when its benefits reach the common people. India’s ancient traditions are still most relevant today. 1424 Students Received Degrees
Patanjali University administration reported that at the convocation, 54 students were awarded gold medals, 62 were awarded PhDs, and three were awarded D.Litt. degrees. A total of 1424 students were awarded degrees, including 744 undergraduates and 615 postgraduates.
