CM Dhami participated in the closing session of the Sparsh Himalaya Mahotsav-2025 held at Lekhak Gaon, Thano, Dehradun

Dehradun:  Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the closing session of the Sparsh Himalaya Mahotsav-2025 held at Lekhak Gaon, Thano, Dehradun on Wednesday. On this occasion, the Chief Minister prayed at the temple located at Lekhak Gaon and prayed for peace and prosperity in the state.

Paying tribute to all the activists on the silver jubilee celebration of the state’s establishment, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the concept of Lekhak Gaon symbolizes the ideas that guide society, connecting future generations to their roots and teaching them to build the future. He said that this festival held at Lekhak Gaon marks the beginning of a new creative journey.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is continuously working to preserve and promote literature and culture. Outstanding literary figures are honored through the Uttarakhand Sahitya Gaurav Samman, and grants are also provided to literary figures under the Financial Assistance Scheme for publishing books in various languages. The state government is also honoring outstanding literary figures from the state with the Sahitya Bhushan and Lifetime Achievement Awards. A sum of up to ₹5 lakh has also been announced.

The Chief Minister stated that the state government is organizing various competitions and programs to attract the younger generation to literature. The state government is working tirelessly with an unwavering resolve to make Uttarakhand the best state in the country. With the support of all writers, artists, scholars, and cultural practitioners, we will surely succeed in achieving this goal.

The Chief Minister stated that President Draupadi Murmu addressed a special session organized by the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee year. He also noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also visiting Uttarakhand on the upcoming State Foundation Day on November 9th.

The Chief Minister stated that in a culturally rich state like Uttarakhand, the Writers’ Village is providing a platform for local talent and establishing a new identity for the state on the world literary map. He stated that in the future, the Writers’ Village will work to integrate India’s ancient traditions with a modern perspective. Former Chief Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, former Defense Secretary Dr. Yogendra Narayan, Lt. Gen. Anil Kumar Bhatt (Retd.), Padmashree Dr. Harmohinder Singh Bedi, Mrs. Vidushi Nishank, and others were present on the occasion.
