Dehradun: A review meeting of the Chief Minister’s announcements was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan. The Chief Secretary directed the concerned secretaries, department heads, and district magistrates to submit separate details of all Chief Minister’s announcements that are completed, ongoing, and those that have not yet been initiated due to specific issues, as well as all announcements made on Republic Day, Independence Day, and State Foundation Day.
He directed that updates on the physical and financial progress of ongoing announcements be submitted within three days.
Details of announcements that have not yet been initiated due to any issues be submitted within seven days, along with the reasons for not initiating the work.
The Chief Secretary directed that a separate list of Chief Minister’s announcements made on Republic Day, Independence Day, and State Foundation Day be prepared and that they be given high priority and that advance action be taken.
He directed the concerned departments and district magistrates to submit immediate proposals for those announcements that present no immediate implementation issues. Those announcements that present issues should be addressed at the departmental secretary level, explaining the nature of the issue, for appropriate resolution. If resolution cannot be achieved at the secretary level, he directed that the matter be submitted for resolution at his level.
The Chief Secretary directed Secretary S.N. Pandey to establish an effective monitoring mechanism to ensure the speedy completion of the Chief Minister’s announcements. He also directed that departments whose announcements are not progressing satisfactorily should be informed personally or through daily routines to accelerate progress.
Out of the Chief Minister’s total 3,575 announcements, 2,215 have been completed, action is underway on 777, and 583 announcements are pending.
Additional Secretaries Navneet Pandey and Jagdish Kandpal, Deputy Secretaries Hira Singh Basera and R.C. Sharma, along with other relevant officials, were present at the meeting.
