Dhami Government Begins Action on Suggestions Made in PM Modi’s Address, Discussions Held at Secretariat

Dehradun: Under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, discussions were held in the Secretariat auditorium to take necessary action on the key points suggested in the Prime Minister’s address during the Silver Jubilee celebrations held on the auspicious occasion of the 25th Uttarakhand State Foundation Day. During the discussions, all officials shared experiences, feedback, and suggestions regarding Uttarakhand’s goals for the next 25 years and the roadmap developed accordingly. The discussions included discussions on the Silver Jubilee celebrations and the various events and programs organized in November to commemorate the Silver Jubilee, such as the Pravasi Sammelan, Youth Conference, Cultural Festival, and the arrival of His Excellency the President and the Prime Minister. The Chief Secretary directed all officials to document their suggestions, efforts, and experiences during the period. He directed the Secretary of Protocol to compile and prepare a list of these suggestions.

The Chief Secretary also directed that all the points suggested by the Honorable Prime Minister regarding the overall development of the state be documented so that these points can be incorporated into the integrated development and policy formulation of the state. It is worth noting that the Honorable Prime Minister suggested important points for the integrated development of Uttarakhand. The Honorable Prime Minister called for establishing Uttarakhand as the Spiritual Capital of the World and connecting it with the global network, developing a complete package consisting of yoga centers, Ayurvedic centers, naturopathy institutes, homestays, etc. in every assembly constituency of Uttarakhand, and promoting homestays, local food, and culture so that each vibrant village can become a mini tourist destination in itself.

The Prime Minister called for a campaign like “One District, One Fair” to bring Uttarakhand’s local fairs and festivals to the world map. He called for a focus on developing the state’s hilly districts into horticulture centers, future-oriented cultivation of crops like blueberries, kiwi, and herbal medicine plants, and strengthening MSMEs for food processing, handicrafts, and organic products. The Prime Minister called for developing five to seven major destinations to more comprehensively and manageably tap the potential of pilgrimage, perennial tourism, eco-tourism, and adventure tourism, and transforming the state into a wedding destination. He also called for Uttarakhand’s GI-tagged agricultural products to reach every household in the country. The Prime Minister also called for making products competitive in the global market under the House of Himalayas brand and for improving their delivery mechanisms. Principal Secretaries RK Sudhanshu, LL Fanai, and R Meenakshi Sundaram, Special Principal Secretary Ranjit Sinha, and various secretaries and additional secretaries were present at the meeting.
