10/11 Delhi Blast: 9 dead, 20 injured… Agencies are examining 100 CCTV footage related to the Delhi blast; here’s the complete timeline

Delhi: The explosion that occurred near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station on Monday evening shocked the nation. This incident not only raises questions about the capital’s security system, but also appears to be linked to a terror network spanning several states. According to preliminary reports from investigating agencies, high-powered explosives like ammonium nitrate were used in the blast. 3:19 pm: A white Hyundai i20 car entered the Golden Mosque parking lot (near Red Fort Metro Station Gate No. 1). The car remained parked there for approximately three hours.

6:48 pm: The car was seen leaving the parking lot in CCTV footage. It arrived at the Subhashar traffic signal (near Gate No. 1) a few minutes later.

6:50 p.m.: The car was slowing down at a red light when a massive explosion occurred. The explosion was so powerful that at least six cars and three auto-rickshaws parked nearby were destroyed. Nine people were killed, and several others were seriously injured.

7:00 p.m.: Seven fire tenders from the Delhi Fire Service were dispatched to the scene. The surrounding area was sealed off.

7:02 p.m.: Teams from the Delhi Police Crime Branch and Special Cell arrived at the scene to investigate.

7:29 p.m.: The fire was brought under control after approximately 37 minutes of effort. The investigation and clue-gathering operations were intensified.

After 7:30 p.m.: Delhi Police began reviewing CCTV footage from the Badarpur border to the Red Fort area. Approximately 200 police officers examined the footage. 100 CCTV footage is currently under investigation. Footage revealed that the car was parked in the Golden Mosque parking lot for three hours, then left at 6:48, and the explosion occurred within minutes.

Initial reports from investigative agencies: The car showed signs of explosive material like ammonium nitrate. Suspected explosive material was also recovered from Faridabad. The Delhi Police Special Cell has sought reports from the Faridabad Crime Branch and the Jammu and Kashmir Police.

Possible Terrorist Networks and Arrests

Police raids were conducted at several locations in Jammu and Kashmir. Tariq Ahmed Dar, a 38-year-old Pulwama resident and tipper driver, was arrested. The hideout of his associate, Imran alias Maulvi (Shopian), was also raided. Based on CCTV and intelligence leads, approximately 13 suspects have been interrogated so far.

Delhi Police has registered an FIR in connection with the blast. The case has been registered under the UAPA, and charges of murder and attempt to murder have also been added. Following the blast, a high alert has been declared in several major cities across the country, including Delhi. Special teams from the NIA, the National Security Guard, and the Delhi Police are jointly investigating. Initial investigations indicate that an organized terrorist module was behind the attack.
