Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today participated in the grand five-day religious and social festival held at Jeevandeep Ashram in Roorkee. On this occasion, he welcomed the most revered saints, religious leaders, and devotees present, who are protectors of Sanatan culture. He said that the saint community is like a living pilgrimage, inspiring society towards the right path.
Paying homage to the most revered Padma Bhushan, late Swami Satyamitranand Giri Ji Maharaj, the Chief Minister prostrated before all the saints, including the most revered Jagadguru Mahamandaleshwar Swami Yatindranand Giri Ji Maharaj. He said that the divine presence of saints infuses new energy into the mind and soul.
The Chief Minister stated that during this five-day festival of Jeevan Deep Seva Trust, spiritual and social programs such as the Shat Chandi Maha Yagya, Bhaktmal Katha, worship of 1,100 girls, distribution of study material, and mass marriage of five girls are sending a wonderful message of service to society.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also dedicated and inaugurated the Swami Satyamitranand Giri Auditorium, Siddhabali Hanuman Gate, and Shaheed Chowk. He stated that Shaheed Chowk is a memorial to the courage and patriotism of our immortal martyrs, which will continue to inspire generations to come. The Chief Minister announced that the Sunhara Marg intersection from Main Road will be renamed Shaheed Chowk.
The Chief Minister said that Swami Satyamitranand Giri Ji Maharaj dedicated his entire life to the service of the nation, religion, and humanity, showing society the sacred path of sacrifice, compassion, and service. Inspired by him, Jeevan Deep Seva Trust is providing excellent service in various fields, including education, health, culture, women empowerment, and cow protection.
The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s eternal culture has gained worldwide recognition. He mentioned that initiatives like the construction of the grand Ram Temple, the reconstruction of the Badrinath-Kedarnath Shrine, the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, and the Mahakal Public Works Department are historic steps towards the revival of our cultural consciousness.
He stated that the state government is working with the resolve to make Uttarakhand the spiritual capital of the world. Along with the beautification of the Kedarkhand and Manaskhand temple areas, important initiatives such as the restoration of the Yamuna Tirtha site, the Haridwar-Rishikesh Corridor, the Sharda Corridor, and the establishment of the Center for Hindu Studies at Doon University are being undertaken.
A pledge to preserve the state’s cultural heritage and social structure
The Chief Minister stated that the state government is fully committed to protecting the state’s cultural values and social structure. He stated that anti-conversion laws and strict anti-riot laws have been implemented.
Strict action has been taken against jihadi mentalities such as land jihad, love jihad, and spit jihad. Over 9,000 acres of government land has been freed from land jihad. A uniform legal system has been established by implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the state.
A strict anti-cheating law has been implemented for the benefit of youth, providing government jobs to over 26,000 youth. Over 250 illegal madrasas involved in illegal activities have been sealed, and a new law has been implemented to abolish the Madrasa Board, following which non-standard madrasas will automatically close from July 1, 2026. Under “Operation Kalanemi,” strict action has been taken against those defaming Sanatan Dharma.
A pledge to make Uttarakhand the best state
The Chief Minister said that the Uttarakhand government, with a “votive-free resolve,” is continuously striving to make the state the best state in the country. He expressed confidence that with the blessings of saints and public support, Uttarakhand will definitely be established as an ideal and leading state.
On this occasion, Chief Minister’s wife Geeta Dhami said that it is a fortunate day that today a five-day festival has been organized by Jeevan Deep Ashram, in which we also got the privilege of attending. She said that Jeevan Deep Ashram is working for the welfare of the society by following the Sanatan Dharma and today in this five-day festival, 1100 girls are being worshipped and fed and a mass marriage of 06 girls is being organised. While wishing all the girls, she said that their life should be happy, prosperous and auspicious and they should live a happy life.
In the program, the Chief Minister worshipped 11 girls and presented them gifts and Dakshina and the Chief Minister wished and blessed the 06 girls on their mass marriage and wished them a happy life.
