Dehradun: An important decision has been taken by the Uttarakhand Ex-Servicemen Welfare Corporation Limited (UPNL) in the interest of personnel working in various departments. This decision was taken in compliance with the order passed on November 12, 2018, in Writ Petition No. 116/2018 (PIL) filed in the Nainital High Court. Under this decision, UPNL employees who have completed 12 years of service will be paid minimum wages and dearness allowance. This allowance will be paid on the principle of equal pay for equal work.
The government has taken an important decision in the interest of UPNL employees: This decision was taken after discussions at the government level following a meeting between UPNL representatives and Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami. Secretary of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Deependra Chaudhary, has sent a letter to the Managing Director of the Uttarakhand Ex-Servicemen Welfare Corporation Limited informing them of this.

Decisions will also be taken regarding Sub-Plan employees: In addition, other Sub-Plan employees who have completed continuous service in a phased manner will also soon be provided the minimum wages and dearness allowance of the pay scale based on the principle of equal pay for equal work. The state government has clarified that formal orders regarding these decisions will be issued soon so that employees can receive benefits in a timely manner.

Su-Plan employees protest in Dehradun: Sub-Plan employees have been protesting near the Parade Ground in Dehradun for a long time demanding their demands. Meanwhile, the Uttarakhand government recently imposed a strike ban in the state for the next six months, implementing a “no work, no pay” policy.
Despite this, the UPNL employees remained at the protest site. Although a delegation of UPNL employees met with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, no solution was found. Consequently, after deliberation on Tuesday, November 25th, the government took a major decision in the interest of UPNL employees.
