CM Dhami Participates in International Gita Festival in Kurukshetra, Haryana

Dehradun/Kurukshetra: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the International Gita Festival in Kurukshetra, Haryana on Saturday. In his address on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the divine teachings imparted by Lord Krishna to Arjuna on the sacred land of Kurukshetra, the land of Dharma, have become the eternal wisdom of humanity in the form of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, guiding the entire world. From this land, the message of dharma, duty, truth, selfless action, and self-improvement has flowed throughout human society. He expressed his gratitude to the Haryana Government and Swami Gyananand Ji Maharaj for spreading the message of the Gita to the masses through this grand festival.

The Chief Minister said that the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita is not just a religious text, but a timeless guide to human life. It is a divine source of light, containing a unique compilation of human conduct, contemplation, duty, devotion, knowledge, and life practices. The Chief Minister said that he has followed the Gita since childhood. Initially, he understood the essence of the Gita through its statements. He uses the teachings of the Gita as his guide in every decision, action, and at every turn of his life. He stated that work for the welfare of society is the greatest religion. This message always inspires him that the ultimate goal of life should be to rise above personal gain, selfishness, and ego and to serve society, the nation, and humanity as a whole with a selfless spirit.

The Chief Minister said that in the modern era, when human life has become complex and stressful due to the race for materialism, the message of the Gita has become even more relevant. The 18 chapters of the Gita certainly teach us some form of yoga. All the sutras mentioned in the Gita provide eternal guidance for making life balanced, purposeful, and in accordance with the highest moral ideals. Due to this universality of the Gita, research on the Gita is being conducted in major universities across the world. Today, the Bhagavad Gita is being recognized worldwide as a text on leadership, management, and self-peace. The Gita not only provides practical wisdom for living but also inspires us to transform every challenge into an opportunity.

The Chief Minister stated that, recognizing the importance of the Bhagavad Gita, the Uttarakhand government has mandated daily recitation of verses from the Gita in all schools across the state. He stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has entered the Amritkal period of renaissance of its cultural consciousness. Our glorious history and cultural heritage are not only being restored but also becoming the foundation of national consciousness. We are proud of our cultural values, traditions, and scientific outlook. Today, the flag of our eternal culture flies proudly across the globe, and India, reconnecting with its roots, is rapidly progressing towards becoming a world leader.

The Chief Minister stated that Devbhoomi Uttarakhand is a sacred center of faith, belief, and culture for the citizens of entire India. To preserve the cultural values ​​and original form of Devbhoomi, the state government has implemented strict laws against forced religious conversions in the state. A strict anti-riot law has also been enacted in Uttarakhand. More than 10 thousand acres of government land has been freed from encroachment. Uttarakhand has been the first state in the country to implement the Uniform Civil Code, establishing a uniform law for all citizens.
