Uttarakhand: The ‘Government’ will reach every household; 23 departments will be available in one place, providing access to scheme benefits

Dehradun: The Uttarakhand and Central governments run several schemes for the people of the state in areas such as health, education, employment, financial assistance, and social security. However, due to a lack of awareness, these schemes do not reach the people.  People even have to make repeated trips to courts and government offices to obtain essential documents like ration cards, PAN cards, and pension schemes. But now, the Uttarakhand government is coming to your doorstep to solve all these problems. Under this scheme, which started today, December 17th, people will be able to get information about and benefit from various government facilities.

Birth, Pension, and Death Certificates will all be issued: In Uttarakhand, the state government has launched the ‘Government for the People, at the People’s Doorstep’ campaign in all districts starting today. To avail of this scheme, you can also seek assistance through your public representatives, including councilors, village heads, MLAs, or other officials. Importantly, officials and employees from not just one or two, but 23 departments will be present in every tehsil and village to inform the public about how to benefit from government schemes. SDMs, Tehsildars, and other officials and employees will be present. Special attention is being paid to ensure that this campaign proves effective in the rural areas of Uttarakhand. Employees and officers from departments ranging from Panchayati Raj to Agriculture, Social Welfare, and Revenue will set up camps in villages, towns, and tehsils.

What the Chief Secretary said:

The government wants the schemes of key departments to reach the common people directly. For this, camps have been set up at different locations in all districts. These camps started today. There are still many people in the state who are either unaware of the schemes or are unable to avail of their benefits. These camps will be held three days a week, and for the next 45 days, these departments will visit villages to address and resolve problems. -Anand Vardhan, Chief Secretary

Assistance will be provided even to the illiterate: Through this camp, any person will not only be able to get information about problems related to electricity and water bills, pension, Aadhaar card and ration card, as well as any revenue-related issues, but their problems will also be resolved on the spot. According to information received from the Chief Minister’s office, these camps will be particularly effective in disaster-affected areas, and the officers present will ensure that if a person is illiterate, they will assist them throughout the entire process, from filling out forms to completing all the necessary procedures. Nyaya Panchayats (village-level judicial bodies) will also be set up at different locations. Through the Nyaya Panchayats, any kind of legal problem or matter related to the Panchayati Raj system will be heard and resolved immediately.

BJP organization also takes responsibility: Before the 2017 elections, the BJP wants to establish direct communication with the public through this campaign. This is why the BJP has assigned duties to all its office bearers under this campaign. MLAs, village heads, and other public representatives have also been included in this scheme.

Under this campaign, which will be held in 970 Nyaya Panchayats, all ministers, MLAs, and office bearers have been given responsibilities. Everyone has been instructed that as long as these camps are running, the office bearers, ministers, and MLAs of that area will maintain direct communication with the public. Different BJP leaders have been given responsibilities in Garhwal and Kumaon.
