Dehradun: Women Empowerment and Child Development Minister Rekha Arya transferred Rs 3.09 crore to the accounts of 5177 children in the state who lost their loved ones during Covid under the CM Vatsalya Scheme. This amount for the months of October and November was released through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).
At a program held at the Yamuna Colony camp office, the departmental minister said that many children in the state have lost their parents or one of them during Covid. The state government is providing these children with financial assistance of Rs 3,000 per month under the Chief Minister Vatsalya Scheme.

In addition, free education, food grains, and some other facilities are also being provided. An amount of Rs 1.55 crore 31 thousand was released to 5177 beneficiaries for the month of October and Rs 1.54 crore 41 thousand to 5147 beneficiaries for the month of November. Departmental Director Bansi Lal Rana, BJP leader Inder Rawat, CPO Anjana Gupta, and Deputy CPO Rajiv Nayan were present at the program.
These will be excluded from the scheme
Under the Chief Minister Vatsalya Scheme, beneficiaries are excluded from the scheme after they turn 21 years old, or in the case of girl beneficiaries, after marriage, or after the beneficiary gets employed.
