Former soldier Kalam Bisht, who won the ultra-marathon in Oman, met CM Dhami; CM honored Bisht

Dehradun: Former soldier Kalam Singh Bisht, who won the 120-kilometer ultra-marathon in Oman, met CM Dhami; the Chief Minister extended his best wishes. Former soldier and international athlete Kalam Singh Bisht, a resident of Mundoli village, Dewal block, Chamoli district, paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Chief Minister’s residence today. On this occasion, the Chief Minister honored him for securing the first position in the extremely difficult 120-kilometer ultra-marathon competition held in Oman.

The Chief Minister said that this historic achievement of Kalam Singh Bisht is a matter of pride not only for Uttarakhand but for the entire country. By securing the first position among thousands of athletes from all over the world in this difficult competition held on desert and rocky routes, he has enhanced India’s prestige.

Chief Minister Dhami said that Bisht has previously served in the prestigious 4th Garhwal Rifles of the Indian Army, and his military discipline, strong will and dedication are still reflected in his personality. After serving the country, he has also brought glory to India on the world stage through sports.

The Chief Minister said that the youth of the state should take inspiration from the life of Kalam Singh Bisht that with hard work, discipline and self-confidence, one can perform excellently at the international level as well. The state government is committed to providing all possible support to talented players.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister wished Kalim Singh Bisht a bright future and extended his best wishes for his future endeavors. Other ex-servicemen were also present during the meeting.
