CM Dhami virtually unveils the statue of Raja Jagatdev of the Buksa tribal community

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday virtually unveiled the statue of Raja Jagatdev of the Buksa tribal community in Roshanpur Dalbaba village under the Gadarpur area of ​​Udham Singh Nagar.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the life of Raja Jagat Dev is an invaluable example of sacrifice, bravery, religious devotion, and cultural preservation. He said that this occasion is not just about the unveiling of a statue, but a day to pay homage to the glorious tradition, culture, and sacrifices of the Buksa tribe. He said that Raja Jagat Dev dedicated everything to protect religion and culture even in difficult circumstances. This is not only a story of bravery but also a symbol of the indomitable power of self-respect and faith.

The Chief Minister said that the people of the Buksa community, settled in many areas including Udham Singh Nagar, Nainital, and Kotdwar, have kept their culture, traditions, and self-respect alive. The state government is working with full commitment towards the cultural preservation, documentation of history, education, health, housing, and employment of tribal communities. The Chief Minister said that research work should also be done on the glorious saga of Raja Jagat Dev so that future generations can draw inspiration from him.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister also made three announcements related to the development of the area—construction of a boundary wall, tin shed, flooring, and toilets in the Dalbaba temple complex located in Gram Sabha Roshanpur; reconstruction of a 3 km road from Balramnagar village to Khempur; and reconstruction of a 4 km road from Sitapur village to ANK Inter College. On this occasion, Block Head Jyoti Grover, Nagar Panchayat President Satish Chugh, Minister Manjit Singh Raju, District Magistrate of Udham Singh Nagar Nitin Bhadauria, and Senior Superintendent of Police Manikant Mishra were present.
