Dehradun: The 77th Republic Day is being celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country. Flag hoisting ceremonies were held across the country to mark the occasion. Significantly, today also marks the historic 150th anniversary of the national song, Vande Mataram. In this context, flag hoisting ceremonies were held at the Chief Minister’s residence and Lok Bhavan in Uttarakhand on Monday, the 77th Republic Day.

Celebration of the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami hoisted the flag at the Chief Minister’s residence at 9:00 am. Governor Gurmeet Singh hoisted the flag at Lok Bhavan at 9:30 am. After the flag hoisting, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami administered the Constitutional oath to the staff at the Chief Minister’s residence. He also extended Republic Day greetings to the state and the nation.

Governor hoists the tricolor on Republic Day: Governor Gurmeet Singh extended Republic Day greetings to the entire nation and the state. He stated that this day is very special, as these 77 years inspire us to achieve a new era and resolve. The Governor also remembered and paid tribute to the freedom fighters and brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives to protect the unity and integrity of the country.

India is the world’s fastest-growing economy: The Governor stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is setting new records of development in every field. India has established a strong presence on the global stage in the areas of digital economy, startup culture, defense production, space technology, green energy, and military power. Thanks to the Make in India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, and Digital India campaigns, India has become a trusted partner in the global supply chain. He stated that India is one of the world’s fastest-growing economies.

The UCC grants equal legal rights to all: The Governor stated that by implementing the Uniform Civil Code envisioned by our Constitution’s founding fathers, Uttarakhand has proven that in a strong democracy, the law must be equal for all. Through the UCC, Uttarakhand has provided its mothers, sisters, and daughters with the legal protection and equality. By eliminating discrimination in inheritance, marriage, and other social matters, the state has elevated women’s empowerment to new constitutional heights. The Governor emphasized that today is a time of technology. Digital India, Artificial Intelligence, and Quantum Technology are not just words but realities of the coming decades. However, we must understand that technology is not a goal, but a means. The purpose of technology is to simplify, secure, and empower human life.

CM Dhami extends Republic Day greetings: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami extended Republic Day greetings to the people of the state.
