Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the Dussehra festival and Ravana Dahan held at the Parade Ground on the occasion of Vijayadashami. Wishing all the people of the state a Happy Vijayadashami, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami prayed to Lord Shri Ram to bless all the people of the state with a healthy life, a bright future, happiness, and prosperity.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the festival of Dussehra is not only an invaluable part of our cultural heritage but also reminds us of the importance of righteousness, truth, and dignity in human life. It reminds us of the end of arrogant and unrighteous people like Ravana and the virtues of Lord Shri Ram’s ideal life. The festival of Dussehra gives us the message that no matter how great the evil, injustice, and arrogance, their ultimate defeat is certain. Ravana possessed immense power, a golden Lanka, and a powerful army, but he was defeated due to his arrogance and unrighteousness. This festival teaches us that the flames of arrogance destroy the person within.

The Chief Minister said that today we should not only burn the effigy, but also take inspiration from this festival and resolve to abandon the evil within ourselves and follow the path of truth, righteousness, and humanity. Lord Shri Ram, the center of faith for millions of Sanatan devotees around the world, was born in this world to underline the importance of virtue and righteousness. The human values he established not only shaped Sanatan Indian culture but also inspired all of humanity. His exemplary life teaches us that no matter how adverse the circumstances in life, we must adhere to our principles and promises.

The Chief Minister said that the festival of Vijayadashami also reminds us every year that many “Ravanas” remain to be destroyed in society. Because, times have changed, but Ravana is still present among us in different forms.
