Dehradun: A delegation from Larsen & Toubro (L&T) paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in New Delhi on Wednesday. On this occasion, the delegation donated ₹5 crore (five crore rupees) to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to assist in the relief and rehabilitation efforts of those affected by the recent natural disasters in the state.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his gratitude to the company representatives for L&T’s commendable support and said that this contribution from the corporate sector will prove to be a major support to the state government in this time of crisis. He said that the state government is continuously prioritizing relief, rehabilitation, and reconstruction work in disaster-affected areas. The participation of the private sector will further accelerate these efforts and ensure prompt relief to the affected people.
The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand is a disaster-prone state, which, due to its geographical conditions, faces natural disasters from time to time. The state government has taken several concrete steps to strengthen disaster management and further enhance the efficiency of the relief system. Senior officials from the L&T Group were present on the occasion.
