A group of 240 students departed from the capital, Dehradun, for the Bharat Darshan educational tour, with Chief Minister Dhami flagging them off

Dehradun: A group of 240 high school students, who topped the Uttarakhand Board Exams 2025, departed for the Bharat Darshan educational tour. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami flagged off the group on Monday. These students will form separate teams and travel across various states.

A program was organized at SCERT Nanurkheda regarding the Bharat Darshan educational tour. Addressing the students, CM Dhami said that through the Bharat Darshan educational tour, talented students are getting the opportunity to witness and understand India’s progress, science, technology, history, and culture firsthand.

The Chief Minister urged the students to document their travel experiences in their diaries and also record innovations and achievements that have taken place for the first time in Uttarakhand. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, citing examples, said that Uttarakhand has set a model for other states by implementing the UCC for the first time in the country. Similarly, a strict anti-cheating law has been implemented for the first time in the state.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Uttarakhand ranked first in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals for the first time. Similarly, in the 2023 parade, Uttarakhand’s tableau ranked first. For the first time, 27,000 youth in the state were provided government jobs. The National Games were also hosted for the first time in Uttarakhand.

The Chief Minister said that after returning from educational tours, two students from each district will be awarded based on their diaries. In the first phase of this program, which began in the financial year 2024-25, 156 students visited important scientific and technical institutions in the country. This year, the number of participants has increased to 240. These students will visit institutions such as ISRO, the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, the Professor UR Rao Satellite Center, and the Vikram Sarabhai Space Center. When these students visit these institutions, they will experience how far today’s new India has progressed in the field of technology.

The Chief Minister said that while bookish education is important, hands-on experience greatly enhances understanding and perspective. A major benefit of this trip will be that the students will develop teamwork, social skills, and self-confidence. They will cherish the experiences gained throughout their lives and, as brand ambassadors of Uttarakhand, will share the specialties of our culture, nature, food, and tourism across the country.

The Chief Minister said that today’s era is an era of knowledge and skills. Whatever field the students on the Bharat Darshan educational tour pursue, their knowledge and skills will help them become our future scientists, doctors, engineers, entrepreneurs, artists, and policymakers.

CM Dhami encouraged the students to always keep their dreams big. Life will bring challenges and difficulties, but learning from them and moving forward will surely lead to success one day.
