New Delhi: A major reshuffle at secretary level position has been enacted by the Centre with five officers have been upgraded (in-situ) to the secretary level. Four secretary level positions were lying vacant. Former Uttarakhand Chief Secretary has been given contractual appointment for a year. The detail information about the officers getting new assignment is as follows:
- Apurva Chandra (IAS: 1988: MH), Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare.
- Sukhbir Singh Sandhu (Retd IAS :1988: UK) has been appointed as Secretary to the Lokpal on contract basis for a period of one year.
- Raj Kumar Goyal (IAS :1990: UT) has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Border Management, Ministry of Home Affairs.
- Niten Chandra (IAS:1990: OR), Secretary, Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law & Justice, has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence.
- K Moses Chalai (IAS: 1990: MN), Secretary, North Eastern Council Secretariat, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, has been appointed as Secretary, Inter State Council Secretariat, Ministry of Home Affairs.
- Anil Malik (IAS: 1991: HY) has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development vice Indevar Pandey (IAS: 1988: WB) upon his superannuation on 29.02.2024.
- Sumita Dawra (IAS: 1991: AP) has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment vice Arti Ahuja (IAS: 1990: OR) upon her superannuation on 29.02.2024.
- Vijay Kumar (IAS: 1992: UT), Special Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, has been appointed as Chairman, Inland Waterways Authority of India, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India by temporarily upgrading the post.
- Ashish Kumar Bhutani (IAS: 1992: AM) has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation.
- Sanjay Jaju (IAS: 1992: TG) has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.
In-situ upgradation of the following officers to the level of Special Secretary
- P Daniel (IDES: 1989), Secretary, Central Vigilance Commission, has been appointed as Secretary, Central Vigilance Commission in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India.
- Rashmi Chowdhary (IRPS: 1989), Secretary, Central Information Commission, Department of Personnel and Training, has been appointed as Secretary, Central Information Commission, Department of Personnel and Training in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India.
- A Neeraja (IFoS: 1990: UP), Additional Secretary, Department of Fertilizers, has been appointed as Special Secretary, Department of Fertilizers.
- Shyam Bhagat Negi (IPS: 1990: HP), Additional Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat (SR), has been appointed as Special Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat (SR).
The ACC has further approved appointments
- Reeta Vasishta, In-charge, Central Agency Section, Ministry of Law & Justice, has been appointed as Member Secretary, 22nd Law Commission of India.
