2012 batch IPoS officer Abhas Katra Singh has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Railways, and Electronics & Information Technology. His appointment specifically pertains to the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology. Mr. Singh will assume the role at the Deputy Secretary level.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Abhas Katra Singh to the post for two years, one month, and 20 days (for the balance period of 4 years of working as OSD in the Minister’s staff at the Deputy Secretary level) with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or on a co-terminus basis with the Minister or till he ceases to function as OSD to the Minister or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
