ACC approves appointment of 7 officers to Joint Secretary level posts

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointments /premature repatriation of as many as eight officers at Joint Secretary / Joint Secretary equivalent level on Thursday. Here is the list:

Sachidanand Prasad (IP&TA&FS) has been appointed as Secretary of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) under the Ministry of Aush. He has been appointed to the post for a tenure up-to the date of his superannuation on December 31, 2027 or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Meanwhile the appointment of Binod Kumar (ICAS) for post is cancelled, the DoPT said in its order.

Nitin Kumar Yadav (IAS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Commerce. He has been appointed to the post in place of M. Balaji (IAS) with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post, for a combined tenure of seven years up to September 12, 2028 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Kamlesh Kumar Mishra (IRTS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Sixteenth Finance Commission under the Department of Economic Affairs. He has been appointed to the post with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post, for a tenure of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Pradeep Kumar (IP&TA&FS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Heavy industries. He has been appointed to the post in place of Mukta Shekhar (IRAS) with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post, for a tenure up to the date of his superannuation on March 31, 2026 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Shersha (CSS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Minority Affairs. He has been appointed to the post in place of Shahnawaz Alam (IP&TA&FS) with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post, for a tenure upto the date of his superannuation on October 31, 2025 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Pankaj Yadav (IAS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Rural Development. He has been appointed to the post in place of Karma Zimpa Bhutia with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post, for an overall tenure of five years upto October 31, 2027 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Vinod Kumar Tripathi (IRSE) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Steel. He has been appointed to the post in place of Ruchika Chaudhry Govil (IRS) with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post, for a tenure up to the date of his superannuation on December 31, 2027 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Further, the ACC has also approved the premature repatriation of Mukta Shekhar (IRAS), Joint Secretary, Ministry of Heavy industries to her parent cadre.

“In view of declaration of elections to the Lok Sabha, if any of the officers mentioned in the instant communication are on election-related duty, they may kindly be relieved after due clearance from the Election Commission of India to take up their new assignment,” the DoPT order further added.
