Dehradun: Action orders have been issued against Forest Range Officer Association President Vinod Chauhan in Uttarakhand Forest Department. Department head Dhananjay Mohan has issued an order in this regard and has issued a punishment to stop five salary increments.
Action orders have now been issued on a nearly two-year-old case in Uttarakhand Forest Department. The special thing is that the Forest Range Officer on whom this action letter has been issued is Vinod Chauhan, President of Uttarakhand Forest Range Officer Association. The matter is of the year 2022, when he was accused of not following government orders.
The department was not satisfied with Vinod Chauhan’s answers
In fact, Vinod Chauhan was transferred from Dehradun to Nainital district in July 2022, but it is alleged that he did not join the new work place even after the stipulated time was over, for which he was also issued a notice in the month of August in the year 2022. However, after the show cause notice was issued in this case, Vinod Chauhan gave his reply citing health reasons for this. But this answer was not accepted by the Forest Department and citing non-receipt of satisfactory answer, a charge sheet was given to Vinod Chauhan on 15 September 2022.
Allegations were rejected
Vinod Chauhan, President of Forest Jurisdiction Association, had rejected all the allegations. After this, an investigation officer was nominated in the case. For this, IFS officer Abhilasha Singh was appointed as the investigating officer. In the case, the investigating officer submitted the investigation report in April 2023. In which it was said that it is clear from all the points that Vinod Chauhan does not have any bone-related problem. In this, the medical examination report of the Medical Board was also mentioned and it was said that all the allegations were found to be correct. However, Vinod Chauhan also rejected this investigation report.
Consultation sought from Uttarakhand Public Service Commission
After this, consultation was sought from Uttarakhand Public Service Commission at the government level for action against Area Officer Vinod Chauhan. On which the Public Service Commission agreed to disciplinary action. After this, now an order has been issued against Vinod Chauhan in the case, in which an order has been issued to permanently stop five salary increments with cumulative effect (meaning he will not get increased salary even after five years).
There will be no salary increment for five years
This means that Vinod Chauhan, the Forest Range Officer, will not be able to get salary increment for the next 5 years. Vinod Chauhan, President of the Area Jurisdiction Association, told ETV Bharat that-
We will seek refuge in the court regarding the action taken against me. The medical documents given by me are completely correct. Because I remain vocal about all the issues in the Forest Department, action has been taken against me by the department. On the contrary, there are many cases related to corruption of all the officers and employees in the department, but no action is ever taken on those cases.
