Dehradun: The historic passing out parade of the Indian Military Academy (IMA) has concluded. The officer cadets won everyone’s hearts with their spectacular parade on the grounds of the Chetwode Building at the Indian Military Academy. Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi took the salute at the parade. Following the academy’s tradition, the graduating cadets were seen parading on the grounds. This was followed by the piping ceremony and then their entry into the army as officers with their first step.
The ‘Sword of Honour’ was awarded to Nishkal Dwivedi. The Silver Medal went to Badal Yadav. Kamaljeet Singh secured the Bronze Medal. The best cadet from a friendly foreign country was Mohammed Ashraf from Bangladesh.
Major Awards Received: The Sword of Honour and Gold Medal (First in Merit) was awarded to ACA Nishkal Dwivedi. The Silver Medal (Second Place) went to BUO Badal Yadav and the Bronze Medal (Third Place) to SUO Kamaljeet Singh. The Silver Medal for first place in merit in the Technical Graduate Course was awarded to Officer Cadet Jadhav Sujit Sampat and for first place in the Technical Entry Scheme-46 to WCC Abhinav Mehrotra.
The Silver Medal for the Special Commission Officer Course was given to Officer Cadet Sunil Kumar Chhetri. The medal for first place in merit among foreign cadets went to JUO Mohammed Safin Ashraf from Bangladesh. The Army Chief’s Banner for overall best performance in the Autumn Term 2025 was awarded to Imphal Company.
With the 157th course, the Indian Military Academy has once again reinforced its glorious tradition of producing officers who lead with courage, professional competence, and unwavering dedication to the nation.
IMA Passing Out Parade: The dream that 491 young men of the country had cherished has now come true. After rigorous hard work, discipline, and a long period of intense training, these young men have graduated from the Indian Military Academy and are fully prepared to serve the nation.
This moment was the most glorious moment of their lives for these young men who proved themselves on every test of physical, mental, and leadership abilities during their training at the academy.
491 military officers for the country: This time, a total of 525 officer cadets graduated from the academy. This includes 491 cadets from India, along with 34 foreign cadets from 14 friendly countries. This is yet another testament to the reputation and trust that the Indian Military Academy enjoys internationally. Like every batch, this batch is also leaving the academy, creating history with a pledge to serve the nation.
Army Chief took the salute at the parade: Significantly, this time, the Army Chief, General Upendra Dwivedi, was present at the passing out parade. He inspected the parade and accepted the salute from the cadets. The presence of the Army Chief made this ceremony even more special and glorious.
Tight security around IMA: Security arrangements were tightened in and around the academy for the passing out parade. Army personnel were deployed inside the academy premises, while a large contingent of police force was also deployed in the outer areas. Security agencies were fully alert to deal with any kind of disturbance.
Traffic diversion beyond Premnagar: Meanwhile, changes were also made to the traffic plan in view of the parade. Traffic diversion was implemented on the road leading to the academy from Premnagar onwards. Since a large number of people had come to witness the POP, the administration had already planned alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion.
