Nainital: Former Registrar General of Uttarakhand High Court Ashish Naithani has taken oath as a judge of the High Court today. He was administered the oath by Chief Justice of the High Court Guhanathan Narendra. After his swearing-in, the number of judges in the High Court has now increased to 8, while 3 posts of judges in the High Court are still vacant.
Ashish Naithani retired from the post of Registrar General of the High Court some time ago, but before his retirement, he was recommended to be made a judge of the High Court and after the approval of the President on January 3, orders were issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice to appoint him as a judge of the Uttarakhand High Court.
In the oath taking ceremony of Justice Ashish Naithani, senior High Court judges Justice Manoj Kumar Tiwari, Justice Ravindra Maithani, Justice Alok Verma, Justice Rakesh Thapliyal, Justice Pankaj Purohit, Justice Vivek Bharti Sharma, Registrar General Kahkashan Khan, Principal Secretary Justice Pradeep Pant, retired and current Lok Aladat judges Justice JC S Rawat, Justice Rajesh Tandon, Justice VS Verma, Justice Lokpal Singh, Advocate General SN Babulkar were present.
