The Government of Assam has announced the promotion of several Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers to higher ranks, recognizing their commitment to public service and efforts in preserving the state’s natural resources. These promotions, effective from January 1, 2025, acknowledge the officers’ significant contributions to forest management.
Dr. Sonali Ghosh has been elevated to the rank of Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests. Previously, she served as the Chief Conservator of Forests and Field Director of Kaziranga National Park, playing a key role in the park’s conservation efforts.
Sushil Kumar Daila, currently on Central Deputation, has received a proforma promotion to the rank of Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests. Similarly, P. Sivkumar, also on Central Deputation, has been granted a proforma promotion to the same rank.
These promotions reflect Assam’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its forestry leadership and enhancing the management of its biodiversity-rich ecosystems.
