Bageshwar: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is currently on a two-day visit to Bageshwar district. During his official visit, the Chief Minister is not only inspecting government schemes and programs, but also raising awareness among youth about health through sports.
During his visit to Bageshwar district, the Chief Minister went for a morning walk and also played badminton. The Chief Minister has also posted photos of himself playing badminton on his Facebook page.
The Chief Minister wrote on his Facebook page, “During my morning walk during my two-day visit to Bageshwar district, I reached the banks of the Saryu River and inspected various development works underway there. On this occasion, I met with local citizens, inquired about their well-being, and also took their feedback regarding various public welfare schemes run by the government.”
He further wrote, “After reaching the indoor stadium, I played badminton with the budding players and encouraged them. I also interacted with the young players and inquired about the facilities they were receiving. Our government is constantly striving to make the sports infrastructure in the state world-class, so that Uttarakhand’s emerging talents can be fully prepared for international competitions.”
In the morning, the Chief Minister performed puja with full rituals at the Shri Bagnath Temple, dedicated to Lord Mahadev, located on the sacred banks of the Gomti and Saryu rivers in Bageshwar. On this occasion, he prayed to Baba Bagnath for the happiness, prosperity, and progress of all the people of the state.
The Uttarakhand government is implementing several schemes for sports development, including the Emerging Player Upgradation Scholarship Scheme, the Rural Sports and Health Promotion Scheme for open gyms in rural areas, and the establishment of new sports academies. The government’s objective is to promote sports culture in the state by encouraging athletes.
