Dehradun: CM Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the PRD Foundation Day in the capital, Dehradun. During the event, CM Dhami made several important announcements regarding PRD soldiers. He took the salute at the parade held on the Provincial Armed Constabulary’s “Foundation Day.” He also extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to everyone on the PRD’s Foundation Day. CM Dhami made several announcements, including establishing a specialized training institute for PRD soldiers and ensuring that a soldier hospitalized while on duty will be considered on duty.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami made a significant announcement for PRD soldiers, stating that scholarships will be awarded to the children of PRD soldiers who achieve excellent results in various examinations. He also distributed financial assistance to the dependents of deceased PRD soldiers. The Chief Minister further announced that a specialized training institute for PRD soldiers will be established. If a soldier is hospitalized while on duty, he or she will be considered on duty.
PRD soldiers will be provided honorarium for a maximum of six months during their treatment period. CM Dhami stated that PRD soldiers are diligently performing various duties, including maintaining smooth traffic, providing necessary support to the administration, maintaining security, and performing various other duties efficiently and diligently. The ex-gratia amount provided to the family of a PRD soldier who dies on duty during riots has been increased from ₹1 lakh to ₹2 lakh.
The ex-gratia amount for the death of a PRD soldier during highly sensitive duty has been increased from ₹75,000 to ₹1.5 lakh. CM Dhami stated that the government has taken several steps to protect the welfare and interests of PRD soldiers. PRD soldiers who retired after completing nearly 10 years of service have been given a lump sum service allowance of ₹18 lakh. The Chief Minister further stated that PRD soldiers have performed diligently during natural disasters in the state.
The contribution of PRD personnel has been crucial. He stated that PRD personnel, with their patience, sensitivity, and responsibility, ensured the safe journey of pilgrims during the Chardham Yatra, for which he expressed his gratitude.
