Dehradun: A big scam has come to light in the Uttarakhand Education Department. Like the PM Poshan Yojana, an employee working under UPNL in the department cheated the department of Rs 3 crore 18 lakh. For two and a half years, this outsourcing employee kept transferring the amount of PM Poshan Yojana to his account. But the department did not even get a hint of it.
In fact, in 2022, a plan was started to send the money coming for PM Poshan Yojana to schools through net banking. Through which money was sent to all the more than 800 schools of Dehradun district through net banking. This money was received by the school according to the attendance of the students. That is, the money was sent according to the number of students present in the school. Whatever money was left, it remained in the school account. Every month, one and a half to two and a quarter crore rupees were received for Dehradun district under PM Poshan Yojana. Out of this, about 30 to 35 lakh rupees were saved every month.
Naveen appointed in 2023: Meanwhile, Naveen Singh Rawat was appointed as Coordinator (MIS) under the PM Poshan Yojana. Naveen Singh Rawat somehow stole the net banking password and deposited Rs 3 crore 18 lakh in his account in two and a half years. No officer of the department could catch the feat of Naveen Singh Rawat and neither could it be confirmed in the audit that there was any kind of irregularity in it.
Revealed on taking account information: When District Education Officer Premlal Bharti asked for account information, it was revealed that Naveen Singh Rawat transferred Rs 3 crore 18 lakh to his account. After this, an FIR was registered in this matter.
Money transferred to 40 to 50 accounts: Not only this, Naveen Singh Rawat transferred the money deposited in his two accounts to about 40 to 50 accounts through Google Pay. After this Naveen disappeared with this money. At present, the department has registered an FIR on this matter and the police is searching for the accused Naveen. It has also been investigated at the department level, in which the whole matter was confirmed. SP Rural Rishikesh Jai Baluni said that the matter is under investigation. The accused will be arrested soon.
